Dear friends,

At last I would like to clarify some facts
about my voice with all the sincerity,
humility and integrity that I may have.

For over 20 years
I have worked without a day off in the Heavy Metal style,
and we all know how difficult and technically demanding it is.

Joining Angra I had to fit a particularly high way of singing,
which was totally out of my range,
and of the vast majority of the singers!

At the time I took the responsibility and faced all the pressure.
But 10 years ago it was much easier due to the physical factor,
excitement and age.
I started to feel, year after year, gradually,
the difficulties of singing something so high and out of my natural trait.

I fought to the end! I did everything possible to continue to sing the songs, particularly the old ones,
always in high pitches, because the melodic metal audience has ever “demanded” this of us singers.
But unfortunately, today, older and more experienced, I assume that I am no longer able to sing so high.
I am extremely tired and feeling the weight of all
that in my voice, including the region that has always been the most comfortable for me!
I’m a baritone singer who dominates the mediums and lows,
with drive, singing with a more aggressive chest voice,
as I did in Symbols and do in Almah.
I have conquered many things and
built much of my story with my own style.

Therefore, I made a decision,
thinking only and exclusively about the health of my voice and integrity of my career,
which I have built with so much struggle and dedication. After fulfilling all the promotional activities of MOTION, scheduled until the end of the year,
I will stop indefinitely to finally rest and be able to deal properly with my health.
But I have to point out that from today on
I’ll just sing whatever is in my natural range,
be it in Angra or any other band, for my own good!
I want to be who I really am, instead of being what people want me to be!
In the meantime, I’ll continue with my activities as a producer and composer, which are things I love doing,
and will not harm at all the progress of my recovery.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the fans
who always supported me and defend me unconditionally!
I will always do my best writing and singing good music for you guys, with all my truth and emotion!
This is the first step to a new time in my life!
I have confidence in the future and will always be passionate about the greatest music ever, HEAVY METAL!

“We had an idea to prepare something special for our fans, that’s why we decided to release not simply some audio single but a full-fledged Video Clip! – commented ALMAH’s frontman Edu Falaschi: – We have chosen “Trace of Trait” for the first presentation of MOTION because this song is very strong in many ways… and I’m totally sure that it represents well the language and identity of ALMAH! We worked with this director, Alex Milesi, for the first time. He is a very nice man and he had various good ideas for us. Everything during the shooting went on very well and we are very happy with the result.”

ニューアルバムMotionは、
今年の5月から6月にかけて
ブラジル・サンパウロのNorcal Studioでレコーディングされました。


その後7月に、アルバムのミックス、マスタリングを
オランダ・アムステルダムのSplit Second Sound Studiosで、
Jochem Jacobs氏が行いました。


Motionの日本国内の発売日は
10月14日です。
日本版にはボーナストラックがついています。

In the beginning of the video Edu Falaschi tells about recording of the vocals
nd back vocal parts at Norcal Studios in São Paulo
as the final step of the new CD recordings before the mixing and mastering in Europe,
and mentions that the album will be really great.

Then, in the second and third parts Almah’s frontman presents special guests who
help to make back vocals for this very important album in the history of Almah.
There are two famous Brazilian musicians from renowned national metal acts and
real friends of the band: Tiago Bianchi (Shaman) and Victor Cutrale (Furia Inc.).

The next part shows how Edu comes to Norcal late at night by car listening to the music:
"to get some inspiration for the recording!!!” Entering the studio,
the vocalist explains that this time he starts recording later than usual,
but it’s even better.

“In the morning it’s bad to sing, it’s getting better in the afternoon
but I prefer to record at night, it’s the best time!"

Doing some warm-up, Edu comments that the voice is a part of the whole body
and it’s necessary to take care about it.
Staying in the kitchen and the “chill-out” room of the studio the musician marks
that it’s almost empty in comparison with the recordings of other instruments
such as drums, guitars, bass when many people are hanging around.

Having finished their work, all the band’s crew are away and
during the vocal sessions Edu stays alone, just with Brendan (Duffey, sound engeneer)
or Adriano (Daga, another engeneer) and it can seem a bit sad sometimes…

Meanwhile, Edu remembers how he recorded the vocals for Angra’s album
Temple Of Shadows in Germany. And it was funny, because Edu stayed almost alone there
in a house in the countryside and even saw a cow several times
(the singer shows that it sounded as a cow, not as a bull :))…

At the end of the report Edu reveals some details of his singing for
the 3rd Almah’s album and mentioned such techniques as screaming,
roaring, his tipical vibrato “Falaschiano” and using of many things from Symbols time.

Also, the musician notices that always when he works at his CDs
the lyrics are ready very close to the moment when the recording starts
that’s why it never works to practice beforehand and all is very honest.

MOTION was recorded in São Paulo, Brazil at Norcal Studios in May-June 2011.
The album was mixed and mastered at Split Second Sound Studios
(Amsterdam, Netherlands) by Jochem Jacobs (TEXTURES) in July.

The release dates are the following: October 14th (Europe, North America / AFM Records),
September 16th (Brazil / Laser Company), October 14th (Latin America / Icarus Records),
October 19th (Japan / Victor JVC).
