Dear friends, fans and partners,

There comes a moment in a man’s life
when it is necessary to make a radical decision
in order to move forward with dignity and renewed energy.

I’m in a very happy moment, where now,
at age 40, I’m fulfilled and incredibly satisfied
to have succeeded in making almost all my personal
and professional dreams come true.

I have a beautiful family,
many wonderful friends and fans who have followed me
for over 20 years and a lasting career with more than
15 albums released,
several world tours and thousands of copies sold worldwide.

I am a lucky person to have made ​
it this far, singing Heavy Metal and been
around the planet playing the music I love the most.

I've been thinking for some time now,
about the path to follow and finally came to the conclusion
that it is time to take the more natural road.

It is with a mixture of relief, joy and sadness that
I have to declare that from today on
I am not the voice of ANGRA anymore,

I'm leaving the band already missing a lot of
what we built together, specially
the happy times of Rebirth and Temple of Shadows.
I will never forget everything that we experienced from　good to bad times,
after all we must always look at the good side of things,
even when things are most difficult.

I am eternally grateful for those 10 years of many victories
and for all the opportunities given to me,
I wish them luck on their journeys.

Whenever they want or need
I will be around and ready to support them!
I am and will always be very proud of our history!
My life is music and music is the food to my soul.
I have many plans and projects for the future!

Some of them are already well established,
strong and generating excellent results and so,
they demand and deserve my full dedication,
and of all the people involved in it.
That's why I also want to announce that
Felipe Andreoli is not the Almah's bass-player anymore!
He will keep working only with Angra and his other projects!

I will go on with my ideals and my career as a singer,
songwriter and producer. Thank you all, with love...

The day has come to make a very difficult decision,
one of the most difficult of my career:
I'm leaving Almah.

To give you a little perspective,
I'll tell you a pretty summed up story
: I joined the band in 2007,
a time when there was much uncertainty about the future of Angra.

Edu, Aquiles, Fabio and I had the supposed certainty
that we wanted to go on together.
At the time, Edu had already recorded a debut album for Almah,
and opened the door for us to get onboard
what was then just a project.

Much happened, and it soon became clear that
there wasn’t an agreement with Aquiles and Fabio regarding future plans,
and the band changed its line-up, with Marcelo Barbosa,
Marcelo Moreira and Paulo Schroeber joining it.

With this line-up we did two records that I just love,
we played several cities in Brazil,
went to Japan to promote the work,
and always did everything with our own hands,
from the musical to the bureaucratic and financial stuff.

The project was no longer just that, but a proper band.
Even the difficulties imposed by the physical distance
between us were always surpassed for a greater good, which was Almah.
So it was, and is until today.


I started playing with Edu in 2001, when I joined Angra.
We achieved great things, we got to explore the world together,
went through the best and worst things imaginable together.

A great friendship blossomed, and with it a unity, a harmony.
Over the years, this friendship has survived
the most diverse situations, but like any relationship,
suffered an inevitable wear.
The facts do not matter now.
We played together for 11 years,
building a history of which I am very proud,
but this story has an end, at least for now.

It's time for each of us to keep working the way we think is right,
which inevitably puts us on separate paths.
Almah was born from Edu, it’s his child and,
in my opinion, his greatest creation.
I'm sure I’ve contributed much to the band’s growth and development,
and I’ve worked really hard for that.
But my philosophy of work and life no longer allows me to continue.



The legacy of Almah in my life will always be the friendship,
good atmosphere, and the great music that we made.
And because I want to preserve those memories,
I feel it's time to go.
To my friends, all the luck!
Be sure you can always count on me.



At the same time Edu leaves Angra.
Much has happened in recent years, and especially in recent months,
culminating in this day.
It is a very sad day, of profound changes in our careers,
but at the same time is the beginning of a necessary and welcome renewal.
Life happens in cycles,
and I think it is a mistake to stick to the past
and prevent new paths to be traced.
Music as art depends a lot on passion,
an almost unhealthy dedication,
and a good mood to be created.
Therefore, it makes sense that when this is no longer happening,
maybe it's time to stop and seek different trails,
even if at that moment everything seems hazy, uncertain.
For a great talent there will always be a way.
Thank you, Edu, for the years we’ve spent together!



At the moment all I want is to go keep on with Angra
and the other projects that I play in, teaching,
producing albums, and never stop making music.

FOLKS, thaaaaaanks for all the sweety messages for my birthday! :)
Thanks for all the support in these 40 years of my life
and more than 20 year career!

I remember when I started with Mitrium fighting and playing in every pub
in Santos and Sao Paulo and then leaving there to play in other cities,
I still remember my first autograph I gave in the old Mitrium LP,
at the former “Black Jack” Rock Bar,
to a beloved fan from Santa Barbara do Oeste, who came to SP just to hear us live!

I will never forget this support and partnership
I have with my real fans since from the 90′s!
Many are already older like me! :)

But many still young newcomers to the world of Rock’n'Roll! Welcome!

I love what I do! I love heavy metal!
This is the style that was the soundtrack of my entire adolescence
and it will be for the rest of my life!

Thank you all for being by my side in this journey!

本当にありがとう。

Mitriumを始めた当時のことを今もはっきりと覚えているんだ。

サントスとサンパウロのいろんなパブで多くのライブをし、
その後、他の土地へライブに行くようになった、まるで闘いの日々。

“Black Jack” ロックバーで、
僕は初めて、ファンに求められMitriumのLPにサインをした。

その人はSanta Barbara do Oeste(サンタ・ベールバラ・ドゥ・オエステ)から
サンパウロまで僕たちを見るためにわざわざ来てくれたファンだった。


多くのファンは90年代から僕を応援してくれて、僕と同じ世代になるだろうけど
ファンのみんなのサポート、パートナーシップを僕は生涯忘れないだろう。

もちろん、ロックンロールワールドのニューカマーの若いファンも大歓迎だ！


僕は、自分のやっていることが大好きだ。
Heavy Metalが大好きだ。

Heavy　Metalは生き様、僕の青春を表すサウンドトラックであり
これからも僕が人生をかけてやっていくことになるだろう。

We proudly announce that after successful release of　the third studio effort “Motion” ALMAh was recognized 　as the Best Brazilian Band of 2011
and “Motion” was chosen the Best National Album of the year
according to readers of the leading Brazilian rock/metal print magazine Roadie Crew.

Roadie Crew was established in 1997. Since then,
the magazine has published more than 150 issues and
now it is the most respected and popular rock and metal print medium in Brazil.

Besides that, Roadie Crew is a partner of Wacken Open Air festival
and organizes the Metal Battle Brazil that constitutes part of the worldwide
contest for bands to play at the Festival in Germany.

Every year the magazine organizes this poll where fans vote for their favorite bands,
albums, singers and instrumentalists in international and national categories.

Besides the absolute success of ALMAh and “Motion”,
Felipe Andreoli was recognized as the Best Bass Player of the last year.

ALMAh’s third studio album “Motion” was released in September/October 2011 in Brazil (Laser), Europe (AFM) and Japan (JVC).

The album achieved many positive reviews worldwide in such media as Burrn! magazine (Japan), Roadie Crew (Brazil), Whiplash! (Brazil), PowerMetal.de (Germany), PowerMetal.it (Italy), Rock Realms (UK), Lords Of Metal (Holland),
Metal Zone (Greece), Metal Cry (Spain) and many others. On January 17 this year Motion saw the light of day also in North America (via AFM).

In October-December 2011 ALMAh played in various Brazilian cities, including three shows together with an icon of Brazilian metal, Sepultura.
After a short break the band confirmed its first show in 2012: Almah will play at Metal Open Air in São Luís, Maranhão (Brazil) on 20-22 of April.

The cast of the festival will include more than 40 bands from Brazil and abroad such as Megadeth, Anthrax, Blind Guardian, Fear Factory, Grave Digger, Venom, U.D.O.,
Obituary, Exodus, Destruction, Symphony X, Andre Matos, Shaman Korzus among others

Almah confirms its first show in 2012: the band will play at Metal Open Air taking place in São Luís, Maranhão (Brazil) on 20-22 of April. Almah released its third studio full-length Motion via AFM Records (October 14th 2011 / Europe, January 17th 2012 / North America). The album was recorded in São Paulo, Brazil at Norcal Studios in May-June 2011 and mixed and mastered at Split Second Sound Studios (Amsterdam, Netherlands) by Jochem Jacobs (TEXTURES) in July.

In October-November 2011 the band concluded the first leg of Motion tour. The band played in various Brazilian cities, including three shows together with an icon of Brazilian metal, Sepultura. Dear friends,

At last I would like to clarify some facts
about my voice with all the sincerity,
humility and integrity that I may have.

For over 20 years
I have worked without a day off in the Heavy Metal style,
and we all know how difficult and technically demanding it is.

Joining Angra I had to fit a particularly high way of singing,
which was totally out of my range,
and of the vast majority of the singers!

At the time I took the responsibility and faced all the pressure.
But 10 years ago it was much easier due to the physical factor,
excitement and age.
I started to feel, year after year, gradually,
the difficulties of singing something so high and out of my natural trait.

I fought to the end! I did everything possible to continue to sing the songs, particularly the old ones,
always in high pitches, because the melodic metal audience has ever “demanded” this of us singers.
But unfortunately, today, older and more experienced, I assume that I am no longer able to sing so high.
I am extremely tired and feeling the weight of all
that in my voice, including the region that has always been the most comfortable for me!
I’m a baritone singer who dominates the mediums and lows,
with drive, singing with a more aggressive chest voice,
as I did in Symbols and do in Almah.
I have conquered many things and
built much of my story with my own style.

Therefore, I made a decision,
thinking only and exclusively about the health of my voice and integrity of my career,
which I have built with so much struggle and dedication. After fulfilling all the promotional activities of MOTION, scheduled until the end of the year,
I will stop indefinitely to finally rest and be able to deal properly with my health.
But I have to point out that from today on
I’ll just sing whatever is in my natural range,
be it in Angra or any other band, for my own good!
I want to be who I really am, instead of being what people want me to be!
In the meantime, I’ll continue with my activities as a producer and composer, which are things I love doing,
and will not harm at all the progress of my recovery.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the fans
who always supported me and defend me unconditionally!
I will always do my best writing and singing good music for you guys, with all my truth and emotion!
This is the first step to a new time in my life!
I have confidence in the future and will always be passionate about the greatest music ever, HEAVY METAL!

20年以上、俺は休みなくヘヴィ・メタルの分野で働いてきた。それがいかに難しく高度な技術が必要とされるかはよく知られていることだ。ANGRAに加入し、俺や大半のシンガーの声域をはるかに超えた高音の歌唱方法に適応しなければならなかった。当時、俺は責任を持ち、重圧に直面した。10年前は身体的要因や興奮、年齢のおかげで容易だったが、年々、自身の自然な特性を超えた高音で歌う難しさを徐々に感じ始めていた。俺は最後まで戦った。メロディック・メタルのオーディエンスは我々シンガーに常にハイピッチを求めていたため、俺は特に過去の歌を歌い続けるためにできる限りの事をした。しかし残念ながら、今日、より年齢と経験を重ねて、俺はもうこれ以上高音で歌えないと悟った。俺は疲れ果て、常に俺にとって最適だった声域さえ重く感じている。俺はかつてSYMBOLSで、そして現在ALMAHで歌っているように、よりアグレッシヴな地声で歌う中低音域が中心のバリトン・シンガーだ。俺はたくさんのことを克服してきたし、自分自身のスタイルで自らの物語の多くを築いてきた。

だから、俺は声の健康と、多くの努力と献身で築いてきたキャリアへの真摯さにだけ専念することを決めた。年末まで予定されている（ALMAHのアルバム）「MOTION」のプロモーション終了後、俺は健康に適切に対処できるようになるために無期限に休止するつもりだ。しかし、自分自身のために、ANGRAや他のバンドで自然な声域で歌い続けることは言っておきたい。俺は、人々が望む存在ではなく、本当の自分になりたいんだ。その間、俺はプロデューサーとコンポーザーとしての活動は続けていく。そうした活動は好きだし、回復の進行を阻害はしないだろう。
